John McAfee’s crypto trading platform, which is passionate about cryptocurrency, was immediately targeted by hackers during a DOS attack when it was launched, according to an official message from McAfee on June 12 on Twitter.
According to his tweet, the web servers of the trading platform “McAfeeMagic“, were hit by a DOS attack (HOIC). This type of attack can stress a network by flooding target systems with unwanted HTTP GET and POST requests.
However, the same day the site was operational again.
The McAfeeMagic trading platform allows users to trade on 8 cryptography exchanges, perform transactions in the shadow of professional traders and perform fiat-to-crypto conversions with an OTC (Over-the-Counter) desktop.
John McAffee also plans to launch his own token “McAfee Freedom Coin” this fall. Here is his announcement:
” … It is not based on any commodity nor is it connected to the value or behavior of any external item or entity. The value of the coin will always be zero in relation to any other currency yet it’s natural market value is free, completely, to grow.”
This type of attack has previously affected the Ethereum network in 2016. Malicious users overloaded the transaction network, which led the Ethereum network to introduce a rigid fork into its Blockchain to keep everything running.
